Wisconsin DNR Secretary Matt Frank To Make Public Announcement At National Hunting And Fishing Day Celebration

New Berlin, Wisconsin - The Sportsman Channel is pleased to announce Matt Frank - New Secretary for Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources - as the keynote speaker during the National Hunting and Fishing Day Celebration for southeastern Wisconsin. The Secretary will be addressing the public regarding Wisconsin's Department of Fish and Wildlife as well as the importance of passing on outdoor traditions to our youth.

Matt Frank was appointed as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), effective September 1, 2007. The DNR is the state agency dedicated to environmental protection, conservation and effective management of Wisconsin's natural resources on behalf of all Wisconsin citizens.

WHAT: The entire event is free and open to the public! Bring two non-perishable food items and receive a FREE Sportsman Channel gift! The event will showcase free fishing lessons with the DNR, a craft corner and face painting. Seminars including outdoor cooking demonstrations, hunter safety and dog training by Dale Creek Gundogs will be taking place throughout the day.

Also, the United Sportsmen Youth Foundation will be hosting a free clay shooting seminar for children all day. Participants can enter to win prizes throughout the day. Local organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Safari Club International, Paralyzed Veterans of America, National Wild Turkey Federation, the Salvation Army and Pheasants Forever will be in attendance to bring awareness to their organizations.

Congress formally appointed the annual observance of National Hunting and Fishing Day in 1972 to commemorate the conservation benefits and leadership of hunters and anglers.
