two new lures for testing
#1
[left]I received two new lures for testing today from JLV Lures.

Fatty Shad
Raptor Minnow

both are rattlers....

both come with particulars on back, weight size and diving depths.

both are made in china with the JLV brand name, both come with caution that the lure may contain lead in the paint.... "I dont think these lures will have to wory about being recalled because some kid is going to put it in his mouth,,," Like most every other lure on the market including top brand name lures....

by the aperance of them If I had come across them in the bait shop I would pick them up..

the fatty has special intrest to me, It reminds me so much of a mouse, size and shape mostly, it is black perl in color and had rock bass eyes....

this one dives to a depth of 7-12 feet, but I am thinking top water lure action, Like other flat fish it has a clear flat lip with the mount molded in place. I am thinking drilling a hole near the front of the flat lip, 1/4 inch in from the edge leaving the side of my hole about 3/16ths from the edge of the edge for top water action.

Top water action may be done for the year, but I can still get in a few cast to test out my presentation, My hopes is the clear plastic will be strong enough to hold a swivel snap. I think this lure may make me a hot little top water and diver...

the raptor minnow I like as well, it is more flat like a mud puppy or salimander than a minnow. the color kinda reminds me of a lighter wattermellon. I am thinking I might do the same modification to the lip as I plan on doing for the fatty.

the raptor is designted to dive 8-20 feet.

If industry dicides to modify the way they manufacture flat fish with an added hole in the lip, remember you saw it here first....[Tongue]

Thats great have you tried them yet?, how did you become a tester for them? I wish I could become a tester for some of these lures that cost 7 to 10 dollars a piece lol.

Ya, I did try them, but they got to me late in the season so no fish to reprot on them, the modifications I made did exactly what I thought they would...[cool]

the down side is, I had left them on my dash board of my truck, and some one reached in and grabbed them when I stepped in to the drug store for just a minute, reached right passed the dog who I am sure was yelping in his ear...[mad]

I could do a cavity search of my truck, but that will have to wait till spring [crazy]

they was on my dash board when I went in to the drug store and was gone when I came out... I can leave a half eaten burger on the dash and leave the dog and the burger in the car together and when I come out the burger will still be there untouched... the only thing my pup dose in the truck is dig a hole in the seat... on her side [sly]

cant say that about the gin and tonic[Tongue] so mind your pints and quarts around the hound....[shocked]
