Sturgeon?

OK, I know absolutely nothing about these fish but I sure want to learn.
1.) What size tackle do most people fish with? Terminal tackle, rigging, type of hook, weights....ect
2.) Is it better to fish from a boat or is shore fishing productive?
3.) Bait, type, size, live, dead....ect
4.) Size restrictions.
5.) Seasons.
6.) What type of areas do they like.

As you can tell from my questions, I don't have a clue about sturgeon but if it swims, I'll figure it out. (with a couple of tips)
I am 100 percent catch and release.

I'm about as clueless as you. But one thing that I do know is that the Oregon board moderator does well fishing from shore. What I can tell you is that if you hook into a really big one you'll wish you were in a boat so you can follow it around while wearing it out... otherwise you'll run out of line if you're shore fishing.
