fishing trip around bay area end of december

My uncle is coming to visit me, and I would like to take him to a fishing trip. I believe salmon salt water fishing season is closed. Can you suggest any salt or fresh water trips/charters that I could take my uncle during the end of December? Is there anything open? I live in SanFrancisco, but I am willing to drive 3-4 hours to go to a fishing trip.

The only decent salt fishing will only be south of Point Conception. If you feel like driving that far, I could arrange a boat for us out of Oxnard. It would only be about 5 hours drive from Frisco but the fishing is still open till Dec 31st.

Let me know what you think. Other than that, you could still fish the Delta or even go about an hour and a half east to the American River.

There are some good Trout and Steelies during that time. I do believe that the Salmon are off limits around that time also.[cool]

I guess I will go river fishing. Any advice for guides in American River or California Delta...
