Big Fish 4-H Club
#1
we have a new leader that has just jioned this club. to help get things going.

he is also a past member/graduate of my last 4-H youth club. and now is an avid hunter and angler.

He is an employee of gander mountain in pontiac and has landed us privisions for holding mettings in their meeting lounge.

welcome to the club "Catchum"

any one who has a youth and is interested in joining this club will have to meet us on the watter at one of our events. membership is extreamily limmited, so if you want in you have to get your line wet. (sorry, no youths with out a legal gardian)(sorry no adults with out a legal youth)

The oakland county 4-H publishes its monthly news letter on the internet. you will need acrobat reader to reed the paper.

recently we conducted an ice fishing derby, the article just came out in april. although a little slow, it is great to have coverage of our events in this paper.

to reed the article follow this link and scroll down to page 2. The article is on the upper right hand corner, look for a fish icon. April 2003*

to see all the papers in print on the net follow this link

yes this is an interesting time in his life,

he will be off to collage this fall, he has just a few months left to choose a major, I hear he is tossing around a couple ideas, law is one of them, but teaching is well with in his range of skills.

say fishingirl are you a michigan resident?

ifin you are or not, welcome to Big Fish...

and by the way congradulations on having the second hiest post per day avarage. second only to me, my avarage is 8.2 post per day. believe you me when I tell you that keeping up this avarage is allmost imposible. I get finger tied.

watch your icon under your name, as you make more post the fish icon under your name will grow. we have icons for up to 10,000 post, what we will do after that is anybodys gess. so far no one is even close to that number.

welcome again catchem , it's great to see that your involvement goes far beyond the message boards . shaping young minds is a very honorable endevor , it must be a family trait . i have been to the gandermountain in taylor but not to the one from your area . perhaps , if you would like , when you have your program on a weekend that " lonewolf " would like to go down there you could p.m. me directions and we shall attend . i will bring the girls down as well .

i hope you have the greatest sucess with this program !

Thank you, I sure hope it succeeds as well. If we can just get one kid to start fishing whoe wouldn't have otherwise, it will be a success. As soon as we get some event planned I will let you know the dates and directions, but you're welcome any time, there are plenty of fishing opportunities around here.

if you go to my web site you can find directions to this saturdays event.

the map to ma and pa's derby is the same map for camp trout derby. the only difference is we will be on the east side of the road insted of the west side were powers beach is.

if you deside to make the trip we have a spare pop tent you two can use. also you will need spedial directions on how to find us in the woods.

you will need a trout stamp. and one dollar per person. that is what the park charges me for this event. regular camping is 18 dollars per camp site. quite a savings.

Many of our 4-H'ers know we have an anual event called exploration days. This event allows kids to get a taist of what the oakland county 4-H program has to offer.

Our event has just past this last week end may 3rd. there were nearly 300 kids members and guest alike. with every thing from cake decorating to horse shows to model rockets. there was something for every one. including a pancake breakfast for those who got there early.

My envolvement in this event was in an educator's compasidy. I tought fly tieing (beginner) and leader making (bass and walleye crawler harnesses) I had 30 kids sign up for my lesson. from 9am-3pm that was about all I could handle by my self.
