Walleye fishing and Consumption Advisories
#1
True there is some polution in Washington waters..there is in most waters anymore.

However there are links and information available from the local fish & game offices as well as information in the Sportfishing Rules pamphlet in the Department of Health Fish Consumption Advisories.

DOH (Department of Health) and County Environmental health Jurisdictions have the advisories for areas and species of concern. As well as what and how much (if any on some species) can be eaten in a given ammount of time.

For me..I am fishing mostly Lake Roosevelt and have been catching and eating the walleyes from there. Last trip, March 29, we boated 8 ( in 3 hrs)and 3 of those were eaten...Yummy too! The tiny ones and the large ones(2) were put back for spawning stock.

Generally the larger fish over 21" or so have a tendency to carry more fat and more polutants..the smaller fish taste better. And Yes I am going back out after walleye tomorrow from the Hawk Creek area of Roosevelt. CYA later
