Artificial Structure/Honey Hole Tree
#1
I was thinking about putting some structure in my new lake and was doing some research when I came across a type of Artificial Structure called a Honey Hole Tree. I am fairly new to this whole thing so I was wondering if anyone else had tried it out or knows anything about it. It looked like a better solution than real trees, hay bales, etc. I found it at honeyholetree.com . I would really appreciate any feedback, like I said I'm new at this whole thing.

Thanks,

Looks like it would work pretty good. Seems a bit pricey though. I would think that you could accomplish pretty much the same type of structure with some milk crates and pvc piping for far less. Plus you won't snag your hook on the round piping like you would using real trees.

I have had the best luck with broken pottery and truck tires wire tied together in a triangle.Large pieces of Pvc pipe work great. Don't use Chrismas trees or any softwood, those just decay and use up precious oxygen. Often just plain old clean sand or gravel will create a 'Hard Bottom' area that will attract fish. For Crappie we have made areas of old pvc pounded straight down onto the mud at low water. Fish over them in high water and no snags. Milk crates work but snag like crazy.

Those look pretty cool. You have seen some of the other options as well.

Check out what they have at the Berkley site. You will be impressed.[cool]
