CONCORD, N.H. -- Learn the skills and tactics for success in catching smallmouth bass at a talk by registered N.H. fishing guide Curt Golder on Wednesday, March 26, at New Hampshire Fish and Game headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive in Concord. A bonus slide show starts at 6:40 p.m.; Golder's presentation begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free; no pre-registration is required. The session is part of Fish and Game's spring series of free fishing talks by expert anglers.
Golder, who lives in Wolfeboro, has guided hundreds of anglers from around the world since 1989 and fished "Winni" for more than 30 years. In this talk, "Smallmouth bass fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee, a guide's perspective," he'll share the tips, tackle and techniques needed to successfully angle for the hard-fighting, high-jumping smallmouth bass. Golder will talk about smallmouth strategies for the big lakes, showing you what, when, where and how to catch this most worthy game fish.
"New Hampshire is a world-class smallmouth bass destination," says Golder. "You might be able to go someplace else and maybe catch a larger fish, but for quality AND quantity you just can't beat the Granite State. 'Smallies' are abundant across the state's ponds, lakes, rivers or streams and are easily available to the boat, canoe or wading angler.
