I guess this is a C&R poll..? Release most unless I get as good 'eye' or are in the mood for some trout. But haven't kept a fish for a while now...

But usually when I get one on the end of my line my heart skips a beat and lift the rod tip up!

I guess I missed the fact that it was a poll the first time around. It depends on the species, the size, and the needs of the fishery. I thinks that's now called "selective harvest".

If it's a lake trout, the fish usually goes back, and I always release any fish 20" or more and so does anyoned else on my boat. Lakers are mostly what I target.

Bass from metro ponds and lakes always go back. I might keep some small fish from places that could use some harvest to help the population (Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell come to mind).

Crappie get released into hot grease. Yum! Walleye? I release alll of the bigger fish. But I do like to keep a couple of the smaller eaters where it makes sense.
