Action: Sufficient quota remains in Hood Canal to extend the shrimp season two days between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on May 17 and May 21.
<br>Effective dates: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 21, 2008.<br>
<br>Species affected: All shrimp.<br>
<br>Location: All waters of the Hood Canal (Marine Area 12).<br>
<br>Reason for action: Sufficient quota remains in Hood Canal to warrant extending the shrimp season for one Saturday and one weekday.<br>
<br>Other information: The Hood Canal shrimp district will be reopened to recreational fishing for a fifth and sixth day because sufficient quota remains to warrant a two-day opener. Some very low tides and a general reduction in overall effort, contributed to a lower harvest of spot shrimp in the canal than expected. There is sufficient quota remaining to warrant opening Hood Canal on a Saturday and a Wednesday.<br>
