Magic Valley Region Fishing Information
#1
Anderson Reservoir: Mediocre catch rates on kokanee over the holiday weekend despite good numbers, but decent catch rates reported earlier in the week. Catch rates on kokanee are good if anglers are able to locate the fish.
Carey Lake: Some bluegill are still active. Bass fishing has slowed down.

Little Camas Reservoir: Anglers are catching this year's stocked trout. IDFG has tagged trout in this reservoir. Please take notice of signs that direct anglers to deposit a portion of the head into a box if the fish has an adipose fin removed.

Little Wood Reservoir: Lake is filling quickly and boat ramp is accessible. Some fish are being caught from the shoreline. Fishing in the Little Wood River below the dam is producing some nice fish. A 20" Rainbow trout was checked just above the Little Wood Rd bridge over the weekend.

Magic Reservoir: Fishing was reported as very slow but the East side picked up a little around mother's day and has continued to pick up. Reservoir is around 50% full.

Milner Reservoir: Bass fishing is tremendous. Concentrate on rocky areas, use jigs to shoreline. Some surface baits may begin working as weather warms . Most bass anglers fish from boats on this reservoir.

Mormon Reservoir: Mormon is reported as being very slow.

Oakley Reservoir: A few walleye and some trout being caught and is overall considered "average". Fishery has been stocked, and some carryover trout are being harvested ranging between 14-16 inches. Walleye bite is slow. IDFG has tagged trout in this reservoir. Please take notice of signs that direct anglers to deposit a portion of the head into a box if the fish has an adipose fin removed.

Riley Creek (below Riley Creek Falls): Good rainbow trout catch rates - some larger spawners close to the mouth of Riley Creek.

Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir: Anglers are reporting excellent fishing for walleye, trout, and bass.

Silver Creek: Anglers reported some decent catch rates for the opener. Cool weather made the dry fly action difficult. Nymphs seemed to be the most successful. Bait fishermen catching some nice browns. No sign of Brown Drakes yet.

Thorn Creek Reservoir: The reservoir did not reach full pool. Has been stocked with rainbow trout. Please take notice of signs that direct anglers to deposit a portion of the head into a box if the fish has an adipose fin removed.
