Ashokan Reservoir
#1
I have bass fished the Ashokan with some success in the past, but I was wondering if anyone on this board has ever had success catching walleye or trout. Basically, I'm interested in catching any species other than bass. Anyone with any info? Thanks in advance.

Marty, I live in WY but I am from NJ and used to fish the Catskills quite a bit. My main lake was Pepacton near Downsville. We would catch big browns on that lake by drifting sawbellies ( a small batfish) from 10 to 25 feet deep this time of year. On occasion in June we would troll Rapalas, just flatlining, and get some fish that way. As for walleyes I never fished for 'em in Ashokan, but Shallow and rocky areas will hold fish. I really miss those lakes back there. We would catch some nice small mouths on Pepacton. All we have here are trout !!
