Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission To Meet June 12 In Helena

Montana's Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet June 12 at the FWP Helena Headquarters, 1420 East 6 th Ave, beginning at 8 a.m.


<br>Commissioners will make final decisions on a number of land deals including conservation easements, habitat acquisitions, and sharecrop agreements. Final decisions will also be made on the final 2008 lion quotas; the 2009 moose, sheep, goat, deer and elk license auction rules; the donation of additional land adjacent to the Bearmouth fishing access site about 35 miles east of Missoula; budget and legislative priorities and the rule on angling restrictions and fishing closures due to drought.<br>

<br>Up for tentative approval are the 2008 bison hunting seasons, hunting districts and quotas; 2008 tentative furbearer seasons and quotas; and 2008 tentative wolf hunting season quotas.<br>

<br>The commission will also consider endorsing proposals for a land acquisition on the North Fork of the Flathead and a potential new state park in Teton Canyon, 30 miles west of Choteau. Three potential new FAS sites will also be up for commission endorsement.<br>

<br>Following the formal agenda, the public may offer additional items for the FWP Commission to consider or discuss.<br>

<br>There will be a work session beginning mid-afternoon on the fishery in the Bighorn River.<br>
