Welcome to Bigfishtackle and thanks for the question.

It sounds like you have a good find on your hands. Those rods could very well be worth more that you think.

I would take the rods to an appraiser before even considering taking them out on the water.

It sounds like the Vogg rod that you have could very well be a Spey rod or a Surf Rod.

Do you have an pictures?? It is easier to tell when you can actually see them.[cool]

A spey casting rod is a fly rod with an exceptionally long butt on it. or extended butt.

From your pictures, it looks like you have some nice equipment for saltwater.

The rods that you have are conventional Surf Rods. Those are for using conventional reels and longer casting distance.

The rod with the "Black Beauty" label is not a high end rod but it is a decent Spinning rod for light to meduim saltwater fishing.[cool]

Thanks for the reply on the rods. Now the other question. What kind of value do they have? Is there a market for them? I live some distance away from Saltwater. I usually fish trout. That is about it. Seems to be a waste they just sitting in the garage.

I am going to be getting a U-haul load of rods soon everything from fly rods to deep sea stuff. I don't want to be ripped off if i decide to sell some. Like selling a rare fly rod for 10 bucks.

When you get the rods, make a list of them.

Brand, model #, size and weight range.

We can help you determine the value of most of the rods.

Your longer surf rods can also be used on a lake while fishing from shore. If you have a boat then they may not be of advantage to you.

You may be able to sell some of them on ebay. You will get a decent price for some but not as good for others.

Either way, you will put a few dollars in your pocket as well as be able to have some nice gear for you to keep and use.

Keep us informed and we will be glad to help you out.[cool]

Right now all I have are these five. The others will be coming soon. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I am going to see about local buyers, not really into ebay not supper tech savy [crazy].

Once I get the other fishing gear it will take me months to sort it all.

Thanks again for all your help.
