Action:
The mainstem Columbia River from the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam will close to adult chinook retention as scheduled on June 29 but will remain open for sockeye retention through July 6.
<br>The mainstem Columbia River from Bonneville Dam upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge in Pasco will close for adult chinook retention effective July 1 but will remain open for sockeye retention through July 6.<br>
<br>Effective dates:
<br>Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam: June 29 through July 31<br>
<br>Bonneville Dam to Hwy. 395 Bridge at Pasco: July 1 through 31<br>
<br>Species affected: Adult chinook and sockeye.

<br>June 29 through July 6: Daily limit 6 fish, no more than 2 adults. All salmon other than jack chinook or sockeye must be released.<br>
<br>July 7 through July 31: Up to 6 chinook jacks may be retained. All other salmon must be released.
Bonneville Dam upstream to the Hwy. 395 Bridge at Pasco:<br>
<br>July 1 through July 6: Daily limit 6 fish, no more than 2 adults. All salmon other than jack Chinook or sockeye must be released.<br>
<br>July 7 through July 31: Up to 6 chinook jacks may be retained. All other salmon must be released.<br>
<br>Other information: The area above the Hwy 395 Bridge remains open for adult chinook and sockeye retention through July 31. The fall salmon seasons, which begin August 1, are listed in the 2008 Fishing in Washington pamphlet.<br>
<br>Reason for action: The guidelines for adult summer chinook in the sport fisheries are projected to be achieved by June 28 below Bonneville Dam and June 30 above Bonneville. Harvestable numbers of sockeye remain.<br>
