Environmental assessment issued on trap club improvements
#1
BILLINGS - Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks issued a draft environmental assessment Thursday, July 3, for public review and comments on a proposal to help fund improvements at the Billings Trap Club on northeast of Lake Elmo.
The assessment and details of the improvements are online at: http://fwp.mt.gov/publicnotices .

The environmental assessment was issued because FWP proposes to pay $120,447 of the estimated $200,000 cost of the project. Money would come from the Shooting Range Development Program that was authorized by the 2007 Montana Legislature. FWP has responsibility for the program, including necessary guidelines and procedures governing applications for funding assistance.

The project would make all trap-shooting positions, access paths and shower houses accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Electrical systems at the 54-year-old club also would be upgraded.

The comment period ends at 5 p.m. Aug. 4, 2008 . This draft EA will be considered final if no substantive comments are received by the deadline.

A written copy can be obtained by writing FWP, PO Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620, or emailing to kcunningham@mt.gov .
