skeg repair

I was pulling out of Bear Lake with a friend and well the outdrive didn't get all the way up. I now need some help repairing my skeg. Anyone no someone good at it up in Cache Valley?

I'm sure you can ask Lee's marina, if they can't help you they should be able to point you in the right direction. In case you don't already know him, his shop is in Hyrum.
The other place I have been to is Marine Prop in Clearfield but hopefully Lee can help you, so you won't need to drive down this far.

I installed a SkegGard on my 175 merc outboard because I whacked the bottom out on Willard a year or two ago. This is an easy alternative to having your skeg professionally repaired and looks nice on your motor. This product comes with breakaway pins so if you contact the bottom they should break and avoid further damage to your lower unit. I have hit my skeg at times since when in a very shallow marina and it seems it would take a good impact to break those pins. I am not trying to convince you not to get your skeg repaired but this is a quick easy alternative and I would recommend this product. Sincerely John R [cool]

I've seen some skeg guards that could also be a replacement advertised in the back of Bassin Magazine.
