why..?
#1
question.... why would a post i made be deleted when it contained nothing negative in it of any kind? matter of fact, here it is word for dang word on another board:

http://www.kokaneefishingforum.com/fishing-forums/showthread.php?t=184

yet when i try to share here, and even ask for input at the end of it, it gets deleted? that makes zero sense to me, and is absolute BS.

Who knows why it got deleted? Maybe you mentioned a "honey hole" that may belong to someone else on the board and they didnt like it so they asked for it to be deleted. The only people that can delete on here are moderators so maybe it was one of them that you "dimed" out there honey hole!!!! Wouldnt surprise me on the Colorado Forum. Not to sound completely negative, but since I mentioned a few months back how "dead" it was and how a couple of the moderators dont even "do anything" I got blasted on by a few people. That was the most "action" this forum had seen in probably 3 months. Then you came home on leave and did a lot of fishing and posted alot of reports and the forum came alive again, then you went to Iraq and now look at it. Dead again!!! Maybe we should vote you in for moderator??? There are two on here that have not posted in over 2 years so what the hell are they still doing on here? Send DoninDenver a PM and see what he says. I am sure I will get blasted on here again, but I am use to it!!! OH yeah, stop posting reports and giving up information, people dont like that duh?!!!

[mad]Sounds like you give away some ones secret spot. I hope you keep posting great posts like that on this site. It was awesome. Never fished the mesa but want to get down there some year. I hope it was just a mistake[pirate]. Keep on kicking butt and get back here so we can trade fishing stories. We do need a little help here in Colo..

kochanut-

I have no idea when or why your post got deleted. I wasn't involved. As to why it got deleted, maybe Jason knows. I'll PM him about it.

Meanwhile, please post the info again. It's time to start thinking about kokanee jigging. And, what is your Eleven Mile system??

And TS, I have no idea why there are still a moderator listed for Colorado who last logged on in Match of 2007. I've raised the issue before with the powers that be but nothing has happened.

Thanks to both of you for your continuing interest and contributions.

I still don't have an answer for you as to who deleted your post or why, but I'm working on it. I'm guessing you must have posted it over the weekend?

I did not log on between late Friday evening and this morning, Jason' profile shows he last logged in on July 23, FinFan25 last logged in on June 25 and Vinny back in 1963 or so. So no moderatots were on the site between Friday evening and this morning. I really am at a loss for an explanation.....

kochanut -

obviously, I'm not a moderator and don't have a concrete answer, but merely a possibility.

on several sites over time I recall posting a new thread and it would lead to the "refreshed" page showing that I, indeed, posted it.

when I actually looked for the thread manually by hitting the refresh button or even coming back to the forum it simply wasn't there even though the site's engine had initially recognized it.

once again - it's a possibility. don't dismiss the flaws of both a computer and the internet. hiccups happen all the time. so, if the moderators come back to you empty-handed you can at least consider this as a possible answer.

This site has been pretty "dead" since I joined, but the topics and responses I've gotten since joining have been real positive. I'd hope, in that light, that there's a logical explanation - even if you never find it. Sad G'luck, buddy!

I posted this question on the Moderator Board, too. If I find the answer I'll report back.

I don't know, I have never deleted a post since I have been on the boards. I don't know if there is a way to where we can find out who deleted the post or not.

i thought the same thing, but my OP was up for about three days, and i even had a PM about it, ie someone asking where they could get buzz bombs. its no where near a big enough deal to get upset about, ill just repost it again some time soon.

For Starts, I did not remove it, but if it contained the link to the other forum as your original post in this string dose and I came across it my self, I would have.

there are several sure ways of getting a post deleted or edited here on this site.

here is the short list.

posting porn or links to it
posting hate or negitive stuff
posting spam
posting links to other forums

a post may get moved if it is off topic to an off topic board or the not nessisary fishing board or advertisers board if it is deemed to be of a nature that would best be suited for another board.

It is posible that the post never got sent. you need to change your personal options to go to your post insted of going to the forum list, this way you will be able to see your post and know it is there. I have seen a number of other users who have experienced the same problem only to find they hit the wrong button, I my self have done that a few hundred times over the past few years.

At this site we dont allow the above situations to exist because it invites more just like it. we have a group of mods and admins who constantly monitor the entire site and remove things like sweeping the floor, if the broom catches it - it hits the dust pan.

this by no means has any berrings on you or any one else for that matter, it is our in house rules.

you might try posting a "cut out" of a subject you found on another forum that you have questions about as aposed to posting a link to the forum. this way you will be asured of getting an answer or at least not deleted... some times posting the entire artical of another site will get a post deleted if persons from the other site ask it to be so. we do look at time stamps to see when things are posted...

hope this helps.

I edited the link out but was reminded that the site you linked to was owned by this site so it is kool and I edited it back in... [angelic]

there is an exception to every rule... [:p][cool]

i thought that might have been the issue also, but was reminded that firstlight owns both the web sites, so i figured that might not have been the issue. as far as the write up on the kok site, it was my write up =-)

I don't think anyone deleted it, at least not that I can find. I didn't, Jason didn't, and the other two "moderators" weren't online in that time frame. No admins delted it either, as far as I can tell. So, I chalk it up to Internet "gremlins".
