FISH & WILDLIFE EXTENDS NORTHERN PIKE REGULATION SURVEY
#1
The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department has extended the comment period for a survey it is doing on Lake Champlain northern pike regulations.

Anglers interested in completing the Lake Champlain northern pike regulation survey are encouraged to visit the department's website at www.vtfishandwildlife.com and click on Lake Champlain Northern Pike Regulation Survey. The link can be found under ITEMS OF SPECIAL INTEREST in the right-hand navigation window.

Northern pike are one of the most popular sport fish sought by Vermont anglers in the open water and ice fishing seasons on the big lake.

Currently, Vermont's Lake Champlain northern pike fishing regulations include no closed season, a daily limit of five fish and a minimum length of 20 inches.

If you have an interest in Lake Champlain's northern pike regulations, go to www.vtfishandwildlife.com and fill out the online survey, or contact the department to have a paper survey sent to you.

A summary of survey results will be posted on the department's website in early 2009.
