Hogan Aug 6: Finally! A Stringer of Stripers.
#1
After six trips in a row to New Hogan (Near Stockton) and catching one striper each trip, I broke the single fish jinx.

I bought some "RotoChip" rigs (Like RSKs with "the Chip") and used them yesterday on Hogan . They have larger single hooks instead of the trebles I've been using with my Kripple Lure harnesses that I've been rigging myself. And they supposedly put a small electric charge into the water that imitates wounded or fleeing bait fish. They roll the anchovy (or shad) nicely, too. Whatever the case, I tripled my catch using them.

I caught two at 30' and one at 20', two on anchovy and one on shad. All were caught in the main part of the lake between the dam and Deer Flat. I was on the water just after 0600 and off at 1130 as the lice began to show up. Maybe the 5 MPH limit they just placed on Folsom is sending more lice to Hogan - ?

The old dam is peeking out of the water pretty good now as the lake drops. The lower it gets, the better the fishing. I hope!

Nice report bro and way to go on testing a product with a positive review.

I used to love the Striper fishing up in that area. It's the greatest.[cool]
