Northern Pike - Friend or Foe
#1
[Image: surprised.gif]

The northern pike is well known in the fishing world as an awesome game fish mainly because it is so agressive. What do you think? In Great Britian it is treated like we treat carp in the US. It is thrown to the side and seen as a "dirty" fish.

Do you think it is too threatening to other fish or is it fine in its position in the food chain?

How about "All of the above" in the poll?

Northern Pike are fun to catch and really sporty on light gear. They are also good eating once the extra precautions are taken into consideration with the "Y" bones.

They are also devastating when introduced into the wrong habitats. They need to be kept in check since they do grow fast and are aggressive against other species.

Generally, the Pike are at the top of the food chain.[crazy]
