pretty cool (round tube though)... I know they make one that you can attach to your tube not zippered like this one. That way you do not have to buy a new tube... Although I do not know how it will hold up in repeated salt water exposure. Also at least two trips to the car/truck. Are you getting one?

[cool]No, Halibut, I do not think I want one. I still like the no frills, hands-free kind of fishing. When you make tubing motorized, you might as well buy a boat.

I posted the pic just because there have been a couple of questions on other posts about putting power assistance on a tube. It's fine for those who wqnt it, but not for me.

I'm like you. I would rather carry everything to the water and back in one trip. The only good reason for making more than one trip is to carry big fish after a successful venture.

I know what you mean TD. When I had my pontoon I was so tempted to put on a trolling motorjust so I could go a little further out than others. Decided not to, I would rather fish with my friends close in than out by myself further out. If I make two trips usually the poles and the fish go first.. the tube is too cumbersome to run fast with... lol.

Hey there TubeDude,

Finding this site about 4 months ago or so, I thought the idea was interesting but more than that, that site has a number of interesting products for float tubes that are to be found under, I believe, the accessories page hyperlink. The rod holders and the navigation light set is cool.

[cool]That's why I posted the link along with the pic. There are always new goodies turning up out there. Do these guys think we are made of money or something?

What's worse is all the junk for fishing that they promote on those infomercials. Some of it may actually catch gullible fish, but I believe that most of it has been designed by non-fishermen...to catch fishermen and not fish. Every once in awhile I see something that looks like it might have merit...and then I find out that it takes "only three easy payments of $99.95" on my credit card, and my interest wanes a bit.

You getting out on the boats this week? I'm betting you could stand to bend your stick and stretch your string on those wonderful colors...white and yellow.

Hi there TubeDude,

Expensive NOT...... they're outrageous! I've designed and built the same set of nav light setup using 2 AA battries, resistor, and super bright LED components.(these LED's can be seen 1/2 a mile away)

I saw a special on the originator of the infomercial and many of the off the wall products like the compact fishin' companion, (folding fishing rod) etc.

WSB are very late this year. I have yet to catch either a WSB or yellowtail yet this year locally. I went to Catalina yesterday. Awesome 7 inch anchovies fishing for calicos in the kelp strands with water only about 15 feet deep. On the Drop! Today I had a different ride and hit the barracuda. Tried, but I got a big fat nothing for my trouble.
