[#000000]SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA--Georgia's Lake Nottely was once known for good catches of largemouth bass. However, in recent years anglers and Georgia Department of Natural Resources biologists have noticed a drop in bass numbers. In an effort to counter this decline, biologists are planning an experimental stocking of largemouths this spring to aid restoration efforts.[/#000000]

[#000000]The DNR has started a three-point plan to restore bass in the lake. First, biologists stocked striped and hybrid bass in the lake to reduce blueback herring numbers. Second, they’ve enhanced shoreline habitat to provide cover for newly hatched largemouths. The third part of the plan is an experimental stocking of 2-inch largemouth fingerlings during the next three years. [/#000000]
