[#000000]SIOUX FALLS, SD--South Dakota Department of Game, Fish, and Parks fisheries crews plan to stock up to 3,000 adult northern pike, 25,000 adult yellow perch and 500 adult walleyes into waters with special management needs this spring.[/#000000]

[#000000]Pike will be stocked in kid's fishing ponds, as well as in lakes with high rough fish populations that require increased predator densities. Perch will be stocked to increase populations in high-use lakes and to supplement populations where reproduction is poor. Walleyes will be used in three lakes where research on the fish's ability to control overabundant bullhead populations is being conducted. Fish for these stockings will be obtained from Lake Preston and Whitewood Lake in Kingsbury County.[/#000000]
