October Houseboat Trip
#1
Returned yesterday from an "okay" houseboat trip. Night fishing was really good Friday (landed 100 keepers) and Saturday night (50 stripers). We anchored at Delmar Butte to avoid the hurricane like winds. Fishing on Thursday night at Channel Island was okay (20 stripers). We were anchored in really shallow waters 6 ft. Optimal depth is 15 feet or more.

The trip was "okay" because of the crazy winds on Friday. I have never seen the winds that high -- 50 mph gusts. Heard a lot of distress chatter that day. Unfortunately, one swimmer was unaccounted for. We had a couple heavy duty binoculars on board and scanned the Temple Basin to the extent we could. I don't believe they ever found the swimmer.

I'll post my pics with a full report shortly.

Best regards,

Paul
