MORE POWER FOR "ALL-ELECTRIC" LEARBOATS
#1
GARDEN GROVE, California - Lear Baylor, Inc., the latest business enterprise of the family that developed the Learjet, has just announced a new, more powerful drive system for its line of Lear all-electric boats. Shanda Lear-Baylor, company CEO and daughter of Learjet designer Bill Lear, says, "It's still pure green, whisper-quiet, non-polluting, and environmentally friendly, but we've doubled the voltage of the drive system, gone to a more powerful motor, and suddenly, it's not just the best built and most luxurious electric boat available, it's also got the most "oomph.

The Lear 204 hull was specifically designed for use in low-speed restricted waterways, powered by the Learboat's normal 36 Volt propulsion. The special 72 Volt Power Surge Propulsion System doubles the available power for use where emergency speed is necessary up to about 7.5 MPH and for making headway against heavy currents. Because the higher power does increase the drain on the batteries, 72 Volt Learboat should not be run "flat out" for long distances. At normal 5 MPH cruising speeds, however, the 72 Volt system will give a total operating time per charge equal to the full 10 hours offered at similar speed by the lower power system.

"Learboats are perfect for cruising and entertaining on lakes, harbors, and any controlled waterway," said Lear-Baylor. "They're comfortable, easy to drive and dock, and now has more than enough power to handle excessive current and maneuvering situations that require a quick burst of speed.

"Our boats are crafted to the exceptional level of quality that people expect from a product bearing the Lear name. Every one of our standard models is priced about the same as, or less than comparable models from other makers. Even our exclusive and patented hardtop models are very affordably priced."
