STARCRAFT PRO ANGLER AND LCI SPONSOR WINS CABELAS MWC WORLD WALLEYE CHAMPIONSHIP
#1
New Paris, Indiana and Colchester, Vermont - Starcraft Marine's pro fisherman Greg Yarbrough and Jeff Manz brought home the top honor at the Cabela's MWC World Walleye Championship held October 2-4, 2008 at Dundee, Michigan-Detroit River/Lake Erie. The pair edged out the competition with a fourth-day winning weight of 20.9 pounds.

Greg Yarbrough, team captain and LCI walleye expert, shared, "It feels GREAT! Jeff and I were very nervous the last two days, and extremely nervous this afternoon. It feels awesome to finally win a championship!"

Yarbrough and Manz are in their third year of fishing from the pro-inspired Starcraft STX 2050.

Yarbrough is a Starcraft employee representing Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and southern Indiana. He also is a seminar speaker for Lake Champlain International, Inc. (LCI). Starcraft Marine has been in business since 1903 and is a manufacturer of aluminum fishing boats, pontoons, and fiberglass deckboats/runabouts. They are a principal sponsor of LCI's premier fundraising event, the 28th LCI Father's Day Derby presented by Yamaha, held on Lake Champlain.

A federally recognized 501©(3) non-profit corporation located in Colchester, VT, Lake Champlain International, Inc.'s (LCI) mission is the conservation, restoration and revitalization of the Lake Champlain watershed and its communities. It hosts the nearly 30-year old LCI Father's Day Fishing Derby, which draws more than 5,500 people from more than 30 states to enjoy Lake Champlain for the weekend. Through that marquee fundraising event and other fishing-related fundraisers, LCI is able to finance their conservation and education programs. Those include the Champlain Fisheries Recovery Initiative, the Fishing For Friends mentoring partnership, After-School Fishing Clubs, and the Fish and Flowers Rain Garden program. These programs encourage the current 21,000-plus LCI anglers to actively engage the next generation in carrying on the angling heritage and the conservation ethic it embodies.
