Lake Mead Saturday
#1
Saturday, 11/23/08- Hit the water at about 6:00am. Made the run to the fishing grounds in early morning light.

Smooth as glass.

Checked out the back coves around Las Vegas Wash for shad with no success. Left the area and searched Gov't Wash, Hole 33, etc. with no success. Made tracks back to Las Vegas Wash to find several boats lined up searching for bait. Most were tossing nets into the shallow, muddy, green, muck that makes up the Wash.

The net brought up more mud than shad. Only got stuck once!

Shad pulled out of two feet of muddy water. Tough duty today.

Settled in off Cresent Island and put live shad to work.

Greedy little striper caught trying to steal my shad.

Live bait hook set.

Ended up with nine nice stripers and a dirty boat. What a great day on the water!

Hi BaySport,

As always, a great report. Looks like I'm bringing my folks and the future in-laws to Mead for a 3 day Thanksgiving houseboat trip. I've been a little worried about the weather. Seems like it gets pretty cold at night. What have you heard about the Thanksgiving forecast?

Best regards,

Paul
