Ice fishing is here!!
#1
It's started in the high country! There is a thin layer of ice in places at both Tarryall Reservoir and Antero and people are catching some decent fish both places. Eleven Mile won't be far behind.

Don't expect Antero to kick out the pigs like last winter, though. It suffered heavy winterkill. However, it was restocked starting in April and those fish have been growing 1.5" per month. So there will be lots of decent fish from Antero this winter, and not all the big fish winterkilled. I know of several this year in excess of 5 lbs. So have fun, but please be careful on that thin early ice.

Remember the special regulations for Antero and Eleven Mile Reservoir-

Antero - 2 trout any size
Eleven Mile - 4 trout, but only 2 can exceed 16"

Good baits for both places are small tubes (1.5" or smaller), small marabou jigs, Shrimpos, Ratsos, Rat Finkees, Kastmasters, Swedish Pimples, and Jigging Raps. Most people tip them with a wax worm, meal worm, or a piece of worm or night crawler.

Good luck and post up your results!
