Canals??
#1
I've got a lake that i fish a lot in the summer with a lot of canals to different bays and parts of the lake. Usually on the openings of these I catch a lot of pike and little walleye.

Do you think i'd have luck ice fishing at the openings of these canals, in them or out from them?

Just asking because I havn't done a lot of ice fishing and it seems like an alright area to start at.

yes, those are always great spots to target. Even in winter.
If there are sandbars and humps present, that's even better.

Ice also tends to be thinner in those areas, make sure the ice is safe! That's the most important thing. Where do you live?

Good ol' North Dakota haha not the best place for bass fishing but its def cold enough to ice fish in the winter....know anything about smallmouth fishing through the ice, they have a lot of big smallmouth in that lake but not a lot of them are around the canals.

I'll see if I can get a good downsized map of the lake.
