Lake Toho
Fishing Report
By: Captain Chuck Matthews
800-936-7298
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com
August 17, 2001

With the locks open, this last week’s fishing has been very good. Southport locks have been holding a lot of fish and there have been quality fish of eight pounds there. Carolina
Rigs with a chartreuse centipede worm or deep diving fire tiger crank baits have done very well.

Goblet’s Cove has nice fish in it. The locks from East lake were open and any time you have that, the fishing is going to be good in Goblet’s Cove.

The area of Partin’s Ditch on the inside water of two feet is also a good area. Black and blue tail worms six inch have been producing.

Also Shingle Creek water has been moving. Open water fishing by the hydrilla has been producing very nice fish. Rattle traps are also working well in the open water.

Happy Fishing,

Captain Chuck Matthews
A Action Bass Guide Professional Services
800-936-7398
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com

Fishing Tip: When working a Carolina Rig, work it very slow for the best results.

Captain Chuck Matthews 800-936-7398

Chuck,

When's the best time of the year to fish Toho? I've been thinking about a trip down there during late winter - early spring Feb. or March.

John T. Ahoy John,

The best time to fish in Florida is year round. The state has stepped in over the last decade to make sure our fish hatchery has come back strong as proven in the Top 150 at the beginning of the year.

The fish go into a pre-spawn in December and are on their beds through January/February. This year starting in October, we are having a draw down which only happens every seven years, so the fishing is going to be tremendous this winter.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Captain Chuck
Pro Bass Guide
A Action Bass Guide Professional Services
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com

Captain Chuck Matthews 800-936-7398
