Kayak fly fishing
#1
I have decided to try fly fishing from a kayak on a small lake. Does any one have suggestions or comments about stability of the kayak and what rod length is practical for a 14 ft kayak?

It is done all the time, I think you will enjoy it.

Do you own the Kayak? If so, that will tell you how stable it is. As far as rod length, I don't think it would matter much, because you are mobile. A nine footer would give you better distance.

[font "Garamond"][#008000][size 4][Image: happy.gif]Hi there richardc and welcome to the BFT and the Fly Fishing forum. Are you in the market for a kayak? Do you live by a lake? The reason I ask is that I would be inclined to opt for a canoe or perhaps a small toon if I lived by a lake again. On the other hand a kayak is quite Mobile more so than either of the above two. My friend and I have been considering this as well. He owns a couple. I've come across a few videos on YouTube. They are helpful to check out... Just do the search for kayak fishing I suppose.
