Hudson River North of Albany
#1
My Mate and I fished on June 1st, You wouldn't have known it by the weather conditions.Air temp. was 50 deg. with wind and rain. The only good that came from the weather was that it easy to launch and retrieve because no one was out. The water was muddy and high, with the temp at 60 deg. The couple of other fisherman out did not cautch any stipers or herring like myself. It was very hard to get an anchor to hold in the swift current. I brought some frozen herring along I saved from previous trips and cut them up. We were only able to entise cat fish to the offering. I've heard that the Herring are stacked up by the locks in Waterford. They are being netted in large numbers. The local papers say the Stripers are still around but from all the fisherman I've talked to, no one is catching any stripers. It has been a very poor year for them this year even though the State record was broken down by the Kingston area. Well we can all look forward to next year. Stay safe Chief.
