Catch Squid from a Kayak

Hi There

I'm trying to learn more about squid fishing.
I've had good success softbaiting snapper and other saltwater fish from my Yak but don't really know how and when to catch squid.

Has anyone tried squid fishing from a Yak?
Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.
