Questions about Sharks....

Well I have a couple of questions about surf fishing for sharks. Me and my husband live in southeast Texas and fish at Mcfaddin beach in sabine pass. The first question I have is if anyone knows the conditions, weather wise, tides.. etc.. when the shark are more apt to bite. Also have heard different story's as far as how many shark you can keep. Me and my husband have been surf fishing the past 3 weekends. The first weekend was great, second was horrible and last weekend was ok. The bait differs from day to day as to what they will bite on. One day they hit hard on cut mullet, other day's it's pogie. Would love any suggestions on bait and any advice on the conditions when they are biting better would be appreciated. This sounds like you might want to get imput both here on the saltwater board and talk to some guys on the Texas message board down below too. Seems like there's lots of shark anglers in Texas so.........

Me and my husband are wandering what a thresher is? We have never heard of one.. I looked on the website but didn't find the thresher. Could you reply and let me know what to click on?
