Fish the West - Nevada - Squaw Creek

SQUAW CREEK RESERVOIR

Well...for this trip it was all about the kids around us catching rainbows and boy-o-boy did they slay 'em. We used size 8 lures with key lime, yellow and blue rainbow power bait. The adults simply used anything that was left over in the tackle box. (no float tubes this time)

The rainbows ranged in length of 10 to 14 inches (planters), while the sunfish ranged from 2-6 inches. The one brown that was caught was about 12 inches in length. No bass where caught on this trip.

The excitement of the trip wasn't the fishing, but the 3 gopher snakes that managed there way into camp. The first was about 2.5 feet, the second...well he was about 4 feet and the third was 5-6 feet. Long enough. You'd almost think that the third one at the first and second one and simply grew in the 2hour period we had between each of their visits.

Have to say overall...it's a great place to go!
