I live here in Washington state and I read a report about the graylings last year in a local forum and they were saying there are a few of the high alpine lakes that still had grayling in them.

Utah has some in the higher lakes that you have to hike in to. Hope to get one this year my self.

Idaho and Utah both plant them in some of there high water streams and lakes. From what i have heard wind river mountains in wyoming is great for them.

the problem is most places they plant them you have to hike into so they are far away and stand a chance to survive.

My buddy that I fish with caught some at a lake in Yellowstone a couple years ago and showed me some pics. I've also heard of some in high mountain lakes in central Idaho.
