EXHIBITOR LIST GROWS FOR SAN DIEGOS ANNUAL DAY AT THE DOCKS
#1
Bioline Biofilament™ will be displaying their new product line at this year's Day at the Docks®, according to Pat Ferguson, owner and developer of the only biodegradable fishing line in the world. This line, engineered nature friendly, will biodegrade and disappear from oceans, lakes and streams within 3 to 5 years, versus the 600-year life cycle of standard monofilament lines. As a result, the angler now has a competitively-priced product available that comes with a decidedly green footprint, unlike anything else on the market.

Anglers' Legacy is about giving back what you've been given by making a promise to introduce somebody new to fishing - a family member, co-worker, neighbor, acquaintance at church or perhaps, the mechanic who works on your car. During Day at the Docks 2009, West Marine is teaming up with the San Diego Sportfishing Council, the Port of San Diego and pro angler Pete Haynes (and maybe former Padres Randy Jones) to solicit pledges from anglers to support the Anglers' Legacy effort.

Michael Farrior, renowned antique fishing tackle collector recently featured in Pacific Coast Sportfishing Magazine, will be displaying items from his extensive tackle collection in the International Game Fish Association booth. Farrior is a virtual encyclopedia on West Coast sportfishing history and tackle. He will be hosting an Antique Fishing Tackle Roadshow and he will be available throughout the day to answer questions or to identify old fishing tackle items.

This year the free Port of San Diego's Day at the Docks®, held at the San Diego Sportfishing Landings, Harbor Drive and Scott Streets, in Point Loma, celebrates the start of Southern California's spring saltwater fishing season as it has for the past 30 years, on Sunday, April 19, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The largestsportfishing fleet found anywhere in the world will be showcased with many of the 70 modern renowned Sportfishers open to the public.

Free admission, parking and shuttle aboard a double deck bus to and from the Day at the Docks® add to the fun. Live entertainment on three stages, free fishing for kids, tackle and trip giveaways and much more fill out the day. Entertainment and exhibitor listings are updated frequently on the website:www.sportfishing.org .

San Diego Sportfishing Council with support from the San Diego Unified Port District and the County of San Diego produces the event.
