LENGTH LIMITS RESCINDED ON TWO NEBRASKA LAKES
#1
LINCOLN, Nebraska - All length limits on fish have been temporarily rescinded on two lakes in southeast Nebraska by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The change is in effect for Big Indian Reservoir in Gage County from Feb. 7, 2009-May, 1, 2010 and Iron Horse Trail Reservoir in Pawnee County from Feb. 7-Sept. 30, 2009.

The lakes water levels are being lowered to eliminate the existing fish and facilitate in-lake work.

Don Gabelhouse, administrator of the Fisheries Division, said daily bag limits will remain in effect. Anglers will be allowed to harvest stranded fish of all species by snagging, hand fishing, legal dip or landing nets, legal baitfish seines, barbed hand spear, and archery.

It is illegal to transport live fish away from these lakes and release into other bodies of water.
