New Berlin, Wisconsin - The Sportsman Channel (TSC) and Safari Club International Foundation's (SCIF) Sportsmen Against Hunger are hosting a Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM at the Salvation Army in Orlando the day before SHOT Show opens on Wednesday, January 14th - and they are seeking volunteers from SHOT Show attendees!
Local SCI hunters are donating venison to provide a home-cooked meal to those who are less fortunate in the Orlando area. TSC and SCIF need volunteers to help prepare, serve and clean up in two separate shifts. A continuous shuttle service will be provided from the Orange County Convention Center to the Salvation Army site.

Since Safari Club International started the Sportsmen Against Hunger program in 1989, tens of millions of meals have been served at local soup kitchens, food banks, or other charitable organizations, such as The Salvation Army. Donations continue to increase each year. In 2006, 251,018 pounds of wild game meat were donated to relief organizations; in 2007, the figure had jumped to 318,793 lbs., which is the equivalent of 1,275,172 meals.
"Safari Club International Foundation is committed to maximizing donations of game meats and protein-processing equipment to help stem the loss of vital nutrients during these economic hardships," said Gene Rurka, SCIF Humanitarian Services Chairman. "SCIF's Sportsmen Against Hunger program will provide the vital protein source for millions of people in need. We are pleased to partner with The Sportsman Channel to provide to those in need."
