CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will be accepting public comment on and hosting public information gathering meetings to discuss changes to Wyoming Game and Fish Commission regulations Chapter 21, Gray Wolves Designated as Trophy Game Animals and Chapter 28, Regulation Governing Big or Trophy Game Animal or Game Bird Damage Claims.

Chapter 21, Gray Wolves Designated as Trophy Game Animals is a new regulation being promulgated under 2007 Wyoming State House Bill 0213. This rule will provide definitions of terms used in the statute, and addresses gray wolf population monitoring and lethal control of gray wolves. Chapter 28, Regulation Governing Big or Trophy Game Animal or Game Bird Damage Claims will address damage claims from wolves as trophy game animals.

Public information gathering meetings will be held as follows:

Jan. 21 - Green River, Green River Game and Fish Regional Office, 7 p.m.

Jan. 21 - Laramie, Laramie Game and Fish Regional Office, 7 p.m.<br />
Jan. 22 - Lander, Lander Community Center, 950 Buena Vista, 7 p.m.<br />
Jan. 22 - Pinedale, Pinedale Library, 7 p.m.<br />
Jan. 23 - Jackson, Antler Hotel, 7 p.m.<br />
Jan. 23 - Sheridan, Sheridan Game and Fish Regional Office, 7 p.m.<br />
Jan. 24 - Casper, Casper Game and Fish Regional Office, 7 p.m.<br />
Jan. 24 - Cody, Bighorn Federal Savings &amp; Loan, 7 p.m.

Written comments will be accepted through Feb. 14, 2008. Comments will also be accepted online at the Game and Fish Web site from Jan. 2 through Feb. 14. Written comments may be mailed to Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Wildlife Division, ATTN: Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604. Written and online comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Feb. 14.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission hearing to take action on Chapters 21 and 28 will be March 13-14, 2008 in Casper.
