On June 1, 2009 at approximately 5:00 pm., the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) recovered the body of the missing waterman, Raymond Lee Gifford in Harris Creek, Bozman, Maryland. Gifford was last seen at 5:00 am when he left his residence to go crabbing. Gifford's vessel was observed at 9:30 am going in circles with no one on board. The body was located with the use of NRP's side scan sonar and canine unit. The body was retrieved by divers of the Mid Shore Dive Team from Preston, Maryland. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore. NRP's Special Operation Division will continue the investigation.
