rainbow trout help
#1
I fish a small urban pond in a local park here in Vegas. I heard they stock Rainbow trout in there until May so I am guessing there still has to be some in there but I was reading trout like cool water and it was 104 degrees yesterday so should I just give up or is it still possible to land one if so what time would be good? Also are trout top feeders? I ask this because the articles I find talk about floating flies on the surface. Any info would help thanks.

If they only stock it until May.... That probably means it warms up too much in the summer to hold trout. If the water temp is below 75, it should still hold some, if not, you should either head to the mountains, or fish for warmwater species.

that sucks Undecided

They only stock catfish in the summer and cat fishing is so boring.

If you do end up fishing there, I would use powerbait. It works like a charm on stocked trout. If they don't hit that, throw out a roostertail or a small spoon.
