What size hooks for swimbaits...
#1
I just got a pack of the 5 1/2 in. minnow simbaits, but I have no idea what size hook I should use? I bought a pack of the 5/0 gamakatsu for my 4 1/2. Should I go with the 6/0 or the 7/0 fir the 51/2 in?

I'd guess 6/0 or 7/0's. I use 6/0's on my Matt's Lures 4" Minnow Swimbaits and they fit perfectly. My only caution is to pick a hook with the weight centered up on the hook. I have some swimbait hooks with their weight too close to the nose of the bait. They tend to swim unnaturally, with the head down.

6/O Beast hook by Owner for that particular bait if you want it to run a little deeper. If you want to run it shallow those 5/O will work just fine. However if you keep getting hit short thread in a trailer and it wont affect the swimming motion of your bait. I do it with basstrix, money minnows, pro swim baits, and robo.
