[cool]Fishing Report June 29, 2003 [cool]
Observed lake elevation at Ky Dam was 359.63. The reservoir is falling slowly and will likely be back down to the summer pool level of 359 by this weekend. Watercolor is still quite clear in the main lake portion of Big Sandy while some dingy water is present all along the Tennessee River islands and main lake areas. Crappie are hitting good as anglers catch a lot of small fish in-between the larger ones this week. It’s likely many of the crappie are taking advantage of the recent mayfly hatches and gorging them self on mayfly larva. A few fish are still lingering around deep stake beds and brush piles in 12 to 15 foot depths. The main lake ledges are producing too as anglers tight line minnows and jigs tipped with minnows in the 17 to 23 foot zones. Surface temperatures this week on Kentucky Lake were in the 83 to 85-degree range. Fished with two friends out of Clarksville & West Tn. This weekend Jimmy Cross and Donald Davis on Saturday we boated 31[
] good fish in the 12 to 15 foot range and Sunday 45[] in the 13 to 16 foot range, Both days the best baits were the TeeZur Hot Head white with red eyes Orange /Chart Skirt tipped with a Berkley crappie nibble also a TeeZur Orange/ Chart Hot Head 3/32 with a Purple/chart skirt tipped with Berkley Crappie Nibble Try the KY Lake 6-Pack from TeeZur Jigs when fishing the secondary ledges and main lake drops in the 10 to 18 foot ranges with your baits a foot of the bottom till you find that magical depth.
