Fly tying this evening
#1
Every thursday nite my local fly shop (Fishermans Spot)
is having little fly tying get together after they close
the shop for couple of hours.
So I went there today and checked it out.
It was very cool.
Two guys that work there and three other guys tying
flies. We just talk fishing and stuff and I watched them
tying.
When I finaly get my stuff I will take it overthere and
ty with them and get some good help Im sure.
I just tought that I share.

Dude, you need the TEVO or Direct TV recorder. Very nice. Two movies at one time even. I was playing around and hit record while the show was on the final credits.
Then checked the recorded, and it had recorded the whole movie!

Good deal Peter! Watching others and getting some hands on help will speed you right along.
It is good business for the flyshop too.
Portneuf River Outfitters in Pocatello, Idaho does much the same thing, but during regular hours. He has a room in the back that people meet in. It is a great way to see some different and innovative techniques.

I am just a new born baby fly tier, so like you I can use all the help I can get!!

I think all FLY shops have a tying station.

I did a demo at Portneuf and at Jimmy's in IF at the beginning of the year. They were great to work for. Hoping to swing another show next year.

Yeah, I talked with DR about that place couple of
days ago.
I went there ones to buy float tube set up once with
money in hand and was totally ignored.
So if that is how they run they business then...............
Im very happy with my fly shop (Fisherman Spot) so
I think I just go there.
But thank you anyways.

I know the guy that runs the club. His the owner
of fishing store in Thousand Oaks.
He did have one full store unit just for fly fishing but
now its gone. There is this little closed space for
ff now[frown]. And the guy that knows ff works there
only 2 days a week so...........................driving
to Fishermans spot in the valley it is.
I heard that the club is lame and not much going on
over there.
I may check it out one day just to see.

[#005000]Don't recall the name as it was a couple of years ago. Was on my way up to 1K Oaks to visit my niece and noticed a store selling fishing stuff and just dropped in to check out their goodies.[/#005000]
