AQUATIC NUISANCE SPECIES, GOCO AND FALCONRY REGULATIONS ON TAP FOR NEXT WILDLIFE COMMISSION WORKSHOP
#1
PUEBLO, Colo. -- The Colorado Wildlife Commission will hear updates regarding the state's Aquatic Nuisance Species program, Great Outdoors Colorado and review falconry regulations at its Dec. 10 workshop in Pueblo. The Workshop will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Pueblo Convention Center, 320 Central Main Street.

Division staff will present a detailed comparison of new federal falconry regulations and current state falconry regulations. The Commission is scheduled to review new draft state regulations in January and approve final falconry regulations at its March 2010 meeting.

Staff will also update the Commission on the state's Aquatic Nuisance Species program, detailing the Division's ongoing efforts to contain zebra/quagga mussels and manage other ANS in Colorado.

In addition, Great Outdoors Colorado will update the Commission concerning funds allocated for Division of Wildlife programs.

Those who can't attend the meeting can still listen to the proceedings through a live Web audio link on the Division's Web site. The DOW provides live audio of all its Commission meetings and workshops to keep citizens better informed about the development of regulations by the Commission and how they and Division staff are resolving issues facing Colorado's wildlife. Access the live audio feed by clicking on the "listen to audio" link on the "Wildlife Commission" Web page during the meeting. Broadcasts are only available during the meeting.
