I like the JB-50 "Clown"
it is called clown because of the bright orange nose it has.
Simmilar to a rapalla. It is my go to lure for early season bluegill fishing. Just before the gills hit the beds they tear up this lure.
no sinkers just a small swivel snap to keep the line twist out I target sandy bottoms near where the beds would noramaly be in a week or two.
I will continue using this lure half way in to june and start pulling up small mouth bass just as soon as the gills get off the beds.
I havent had any luck on the crappie or large mouth bass with this lure, I think it may be a matter of colar.
I pickes up a silver one and look forward to trying that out in a few weeks when the water worms up a bit.
