[cool]well as a avid fisherman who enjoys and well hidden sport of gar fishing,as i dont eat them i release them when i am through after a great fight.,gar are predetors and you can fish for them like you fish for bass as them same baits attract them as well, my best way of find them is with stop and look around you method,my best time for this persuit is when the rivers flood its banks as everyone is looking for cats, i am after monster gars,as they can get very large and are a rough fish to handle i use a musky heavy weight pole and 30 pound of spyder wire to start with and one pole with fifty pounds just in case i see a really big one and its on.most of the time all that is needed is to cast in front of them to get there attention and the fight is on.so when i finally hook that monster and break that record will be a day of hard fighting and bone crunching action that is something not all anglers look for but is a great challenge is monster gars.
