CONCORD, N.H. - A public hearing to discuss proposed rules that would affect who a person licensed to take lobsters may use as helpers on a lobster vessel, will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at the Urban Forestry Center, 45 Elwyn Road in Portsmouth, N.H.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is proposing to readopt with amendment Fis 602.17 relative to helpers for commercially taking lobsters. The proposed rule will allow more opportunity for a person currently holding a commercial or limited lobster license to be used as a helper on lobster vessel. The proposed rule would not apply to persons on vessels permitted by the National Marine Fisheries Service to take American lobster.
